As you connect to your body/mind a deeper awareness rises...that awareness provides information to support your healing. What nourishes you and brings you fully alive today?
For me, on this chilly autumn morning, a walk in the fresh air, warm oatmeal with walnuts, farmers market, warm veggie bean soup for later, and a Sunday afternoon yoga practice...creating warmth.

A Few Considerations
1. Realize that those you are sharing with may or may not have experienced your pain, and their way of feeling and expressing pain may sound totally different, a different language.
2. Many who you speak with will not be truly listening as they are already thinking about how they can help you. One of the ways they might try to help is to bond with you on the wound of pain. If they have ever had a similar pain, or even pain that is not related, they might begin to tell you about their experience, or their previous pain, and what they did to make it go away. This does not mean they don't care about you or your pain. It's simply that their capacity to BE with you and simply listen may not be a practiced skill.
3. There are others who deny your experience by making little of it, telling you it's not that bad, or creating expressions that suggest you are crazy. Again, this does not mean they don't care. Some people feel helpless when they hear about something they can't fix and they don't know what to or say when things don't improve.
4. One possible solution is to consider who you are sharing with. Are they a good listener. Let them know up front that you are not asking them to fix you. Perhaps even ask them if it's a good time to speak with them about what's been happening with you. If they ask you how they can help, allow yourself to accept the help, and offer them a constructive way to support you.... maybe physical help with shopping, getting to a doctors appointment, or even just their company... find a way to giggle together even in the midst of the pain.
Big wecome to all of you who are beginning the new Turning Inward program. You are about to begin a beautiful journey into healing as you consider, reflect, practice, and participate in the program.
It's exciting and humbling to witness the healing process in all it's different manifestations.
Allow for the unknown, allow for the unfamiliar, and envision the results...
Blessings on your healing!!!

What would it be like if each and every person in this country began to take care of themselves, their lives, and made the changes they need in order to flourish and thrive? Take today, will you commit to staying present to what you need in order to care for your physical body today? See your body as precious gift that needs your meticulous presence to be fully alive. Listen to what it needs.. learn it's language. Let me know how it goes.
For me, healing is a daily, sometimes moment to moment process. It's not only about what's happening in my physical body, if I have aches and pains, stress, strong feelings, living in the past, or worried about the future. Healing is about how I can bring myself more alive each moment. Present to what would make this moment that I'm living right now the best it could be.
For me, sometimes it's doing things differently than I do each day. The spontaneity of a last minute decision, following my intuition to walk a different route, to eat a different food than I typically eat, to share a week with a friend who lives on the other side of the world and see what happens when we celebrate life together.
It's fun to come alive in each day, each moment...
What brings you alive?
Happy Easter Everyone
Turning Inward this Easter... consider the concept of resurrection.
What will you bring to life within you?
How can you honor the gift of your physical body? Do you allow
change when your actions have not been serving you? Does your
joy and excitement rise when you greet your day? Are feelings
from past events preventing you from moving forward today?
Awaken to your life, the precious splendor of all that surrounds you.
