My motto is to treat myself with at least the same amount of compassion as I do my best friend. It is not selfish but imperative to take time for myself.
When I am in pain my first reaction is to look for someone close to me to be compassionate and make the pain go away. I have learned that it is a quick fix and a bandaid. Pain will return. Each time I am hurting I keep looking for them. I never learned how to be compassionate to myself. It takes time to relearn how to soothe your pain. I'll try some sprinkles.
Compassion to self is a worthy journey... for me, when pain rises, I listen to what my body is needing so I can make clear choices about what would soothe my pain... sprinkles represent "all" things that quiet and transform the pain...
You make it sound so simple. I will let you know of my progress.
My journey into a world in which compassion for myself is prominent was long and difficult. it did not come natural to me. However, now that I live in a world with self compassion I can say it is worth all the pain and trials I went thru to get here. I wish you luck. Remember to make the effort to be kind and compassionate to yourself and do not berate yourself when you don't. The more you treat yourself with compassion the easier it will get.
My cynical reaction to "turning inward" and "phoenix rising" is crumbling! Pieces of fear and stress lay at my feet. I look forward to my daily practice. I have begun the long journey inward. It feels great! Thank you, Caron!
Being tired of hurting when pain would strike
my first thought was---there must be a pill
I could take to get some relief.
Until finding my healing needed to come from within.
Our minds, bodies, hearts and spirits are all connected to our
walk on this journey. Peace
Sounds great Wanda...Thanks for letting us know your thoughts....

Yup, couldn't agree more. And I'd like to add that you've got a great colour scheme on your site, I suffer with colour blindness and many webmasters don't give us a second thought!
